Rite of Thalia was formed in December 2012 by keyboard player Riccardo Dionisi and singer Chiara Petrelli. The genre can be described as a fusion of rock-metal sounds with symphonic atmospheres. The line up was completed shortly after with Samuel Serangeli (Guitar & Growls), Stefano Ottaviani (Bass) and Stefano Di Filippo (Drums). In February 2013, the band started recording their first single "Last Wish" which won first prize at the music section of the national contest "Write & Sing" in Rieti on April 2013. As a consequence the band were then interviewed on "RL TV" during which the piece was also broadcasted. During the summer the band continued recording and also began playing live shows. The band performed in various pubs and festivals, performing new unreleased songs and covers of famous bands such as Nightwish and Epica. The second single, "Looking in The Mirror", self-produced and recorded in May, has been selected for a competition for emerging bands organised by radio program "DEMO L'ACCHIAPPATALENTI" and was aired on RAI Radio1 on November 12, 2013. During that month "Last Wish" and "Looking in the Mirror" also got airplay on "Radiomondo." In February 2014 the band released "Tales of Sudden Fate", the third single from their upcoming demo. In July 2014 Rite of Thalia were interviewed by the online blog "Les Fleurs du Mal" and in August 2014 "Last Wish" was selected as the soundtrack for the short film entitled "La Dama Bianca di Poggio Catino". The band is in currently working to complete their "Concept Album".
